Stock suspension bushings are made of soft rubber, which gives the greatest amount of noise reduction and comfort, but also allows extra unwanted movement in the suspension. Firmer polyurethane bushings improve the ability of the suspension to control wheel motion, with noticeable improvement in handling responsiveness.
Note: Installing replacement bushings is a labor-intensive job, involving hours of time. We estimate labor costs of around $400 for bushing replacement.
Note 2: Energy Suspension is the only company that we know of that makes upgrade bushings for the Eclipse, and right now we can't seem to get anything but 89-94 model year bushings. Watch this space...
