Can I Add a Turbo To My Non-Turbo Car?
This is a common question. In most cases, the expense and effort required to add a turbocharger to a non-turbo motor would be much higher than simply selling the car and buying an equivalent turbo model, and it would never be as reliable as the factory turbo system. The turbo motor has many different internal parts, including different pistons and rods from the normally-aspirated motor.
Thatís not to say itís impossible; there are turbo kits on the market. Hahn Racecraft produces one for the 95 and newer non-turbo cars. It uses a Mitsubishi 16G turbo (the same as our Sport turbo upgrade), and is good for a total of 250 horsepower in its intercooled form. Call us for details.
